The British Retail Consortium (BRC) standard was developed with the intention of creating clarity, consistency and safety for consumers in areas such as food safety, product packaging, storage and distribution. A BRC supplier is a product supplier that works with the BRC to ensure their products meet the high standards set by the BRC for consumers. The standards were initially developed only for Britain but have since become global standards of quality and competence. The certification provides manufacturers and retailers assurance that BRC suppliers’ capabilities are of the acceptable level.
Automatic Plastics have been in operation for more than four decades and have established customer relationships that have lasted for over a quarter century. Providing plastic injection moulding services and manufacturing to the pharmaceutical, medical device and automotive industries means approaching production with consistency and high levels of quality. Building and maintaining prosperous business relationships requires a consistent level of quality of service provision. Automatic plastics recognises that the BRC suppliers certification establishes that a company provides consistent service at high levels of quality.
In order to ensure such high standards are maintained APL implements a Continuous Improvement Program. A specially appointed Quality Manager also works with a team assembled from different aspects of the business.
The company’s focus on achieving high standards of quality means that it meets numerous international quality standards including:
– QS-9000 Accreditation
– TS-16949 Automotive Standard
– ISO 9002/EN 29002 International Quality System
Automatic Plastic’s dedication to quality not only focuses on its products but also extends to staff and continuous investment in staff development. This ensures the highest quality of service is met and maintained. As part of its investment in staff APL implements the Excellence Through People training course. This is a nationally recognised training framework that aims to enhance performance and enable more effective management strategies.
Additional procedures carried out as standard include the supply of CPK analysis on request, SPC on critical dimensions and function-fit tests on mating parts.
Currently APL is working with the BRC standards agency to attain BRC supplier status. This will add to the established standards of quality already met by Automatic Plastics along with many years of experience and customer satisfaction.
